catchup

hey guys,

taken me long enough i know, i havent had the chance to get on the net since the airport where it was free. im in a tourist info thing in bagni di luca (bagni caldi) 1.5 euro for an hour of net use. my aswell do a recap of everything thats really happened. well first of, the flight was long, that sucked. then we got our first taste of all the hype of italian drivers and how crazy they are, to me it felt fine, it was nonno who was trippin, i was happy it was a place where not indicating and speeding was accepted lol! i we stayed at hotel oxford for 3 nights which is almost in the centre of rome, at some dope food, ive had pizza and pasta everyday and every meal bar breakfest and had meat prollas 2 times mayb.

while in rome we went to the ancient ruines and did the vatican aswell. stupidly i didnt know that the vatican was its own country, so i learnt something lol the ancient ruines were amazing, the whole of rome is fucken amazing actually, just the way they live so cramped and yet they build so many churches and monuments to the gods, honestly it cant be explained unless u see it. i have taken a heap of photos, so hopefully when i get back il make a video of the trip. as for now i cant get any photos up, just one actually. also while we were at the vatican our tour guide got into a fight with another tour guide LOL. they started pushing each other cause the other guy cut the line, then sum common hero dad had to jump in and stop it, could have been a good fist fight, make the day exciting lol went to st pauls basillica, ausome too, aswell as sistine (dont know how to spell) chappel, got some photos even though its banned lol, have to check em out.

so we left rome and picked up our car from the airport, its a huge bus, a fiat ducato, and its very tight here, that and people driving like mad on there mobiles makes for sum stressful times. unfortunately i cant drive! it would have cost like double so dad said no. when we were driving from rome airport to bagni di lucca nonno swapped over with dad to drive, almost killed us twice, i kid u not. in sum parts of the italian highway there arent gaurd rails on the road, and nonno couldnt judge the cars size and we almost drove of the side, scary shit. so from then on dad has driven every time.

on the way to bagni di lucca there was a group of motorbikers and italian cars drive by, lambos ferraris and then yamaha bikes and wahtever, got a small video, pretty mad. other than that seen a heap of porsches, thats about it. we made it bagni di lucca alright even though the roads are one car wide, and weve been doing day trips a couple of times. went to florence, didnt se the statue of david though cause of the line, but did a bit of shopping there, so many shops! today we went to lucca and walked around there. tomorow were of to cinque terra for the day which should be good. have been getting up real early and had full on days, not much sleep which gaina keeps whinging about lol at 830pm at night its daylight still, trips u out. we are staying in a villa which is in the mountains, its pretty secluded here, real nice place. alright, better bust out, been here for a while. sorry i havent posted much, didnt have access in rome, and even though we havent even been here for a week i feel like its been a month, so theres heaps to come. next is bellagio on lake commo which is the 5 star place, thatll be good im sure lol bought sum fine cigars and sum nice cheeses, so hope to get into them, even though nonno hates it lol

be posting soon fo shoo, hope everything is well back home, keeps it rull rull

p.s. scroll down the bottom for the pic

hey Dan.. great to hear from you man, sounds like the driving over there is mad, and the car you've got sounds like a mini-van ... kinda like the partidge family :) driving on the other side of the road is very confusing and I remember always driving way too close to the other lane when I was driving in the States.. it feels weird being on the other side of the road. Yeh, best let your dad do the driving rather than Nono, well, especially for the highways.

What you think of Florence? Can you taste a difference in the food there compared to Rome? I reckon the food in the Tuscany region is much nicer... take photos of the cheese :) wish I was eating some.mmmmmm

hey bo,

the driving has been mad, had to catch a ferry to get where we are now. its pretty confusing driving but getting used to it. we only did a day trip to florence unfortunately, the best food weve had has been in rome in a tiny restaurant, other than that its been pretty mad. florence was very busy, didnt like it all that much, but tuscany was great, had an apartment which was cool. i got photos of the food, u can check em out when i get back.
